Tea Cozy

Mary Scott Huff and I took a little trip to Ballard, WA Saturday. She taught at the Nordic Heritage Museum and I visited a customer's shop I had never seen. Tea Cozy Yarn Shop was bright and friendly. The customers and staff encouraged me to sit at the comfy chairs where their class was wrapping up. I wish I had photos because all the students had just learned to make sock heels and toes and bound off their first socks!! The clever class had them using giant yarn to make Christmas stockings that only took two classes to complete, yet had all the components of a sock.

I took a couple pics of the charming shop, plus two very nice ladies I met. Good company for an afternoon of knitting. Oh did I mention that Jean, the store owner, kept making us pots of tea? Check out Tea Cozy if you're in the Seattle area.

I made a fair amount of progress on my socks. I've had these socks on the needles for three years. I got stuck, kept forgetting where I was in the texture and put them on the back burner. I haven't made socks this year and am used to having a pair on the needles ready to grab and go all the time. Sock number one is done and two is well on its way.

Ate fantastic Vietnamese food at Monkey Bridge in Ballard before heading home. Mary was excellent company for the drive and a great day it was.

Sunday I groomed Merlin. Not my favorite chore, but he was overdue and he's so handsome afterwards. I also managed to spin a bunch more of the gold silk I got from Carolina Homespun.
